The International Conference of the European Project "ROOTS": "Prevention of Trafficking and (re)Trafficking of Human Beings in Europe" was successfully held on the 28th of November 2010.
The Conference started with the welcome speeches of the representatives of EMNYTP, Diakonia onlus, Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki, Unesco Youth Club of Thessaloniki, Youthnet Hellas, and continued with the presentations of the "ROOTS" Project, and the current situation of trafficking in Greece.
The conference was attended by representatives of Local Authorities and a big number of volunteers.

Invitation
We are very happy to invite you to the International Meeting of the European Project "ROOTS" about "Prevention of Trafficking and re-Trafficking of Human Beings in Europe"
The Meeting will take place on the 28th of November 2010 from 12:00 until 17:00 at Holiday Inn Hotel, Monastiriou 8 in Thessaloniki.
The main topics will be:
- Women trafficking for sexual exploitation
- Approach Method: Prevention, Protection and Prosecution for the benefits of trafficking victims
- Human trafficking and peripheral interdependence for the prevention. protection and prosecution of human trafficking in Europe
- Strategies for (re)integration for trafficking victims in their host and origin communities. Networking and cooperation for the prevention of human trafficking
Then, there will be a presentation of the “ROOTS” Project, speeches from the main partner “Diakonia Onlus” , the hosts “Euro-Mediterranean Network for Youth Trafficking Prevention” (EMNYTP), the sponsors, representatives of Local Authorities and live video-connection with EMNYTP partners from Serbia, Egypt, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakstan.
There will be conversation panels and working groups about the present situation of trafficking and future plans for its prevention in Greece.
The International Meeting will be a platform for the development and realization of future projects funded by the European Commission.
The event is organized by Diakonia Onlus in cooperation with EMNYTP
